2 packages Isernio’s Hot Italian Sausage
2 large (28 oz.) cans crushed tomatoes
4 banana or Anaheim peppers
2 green peppers or 1 yellow and 1 red pepper
I cup burgundy wine
2 cloves garlic
Red Pepper flakes to taste
Sliced Mozzarella Cheese
Hard Rolls
Brown sausage in skillet
Combine crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce and wine in pot. Slice all peppers and garlic, add to sauce. Bring to boil. Add pepper flakes to taste. When sausage is browned, add to mix, turn to low and simmer for 90 minutes. The longer the better, as all flavors will combine. Serve on hard rolls with cheese.
Option:
Combine all above in Crock Pot. Turn on low, simmer on low for several hours. The longer it cooks, the thicker the sauce will be.
