Thai basil chicken, known as Pad Krapow Gai, is among the most popular Thai street food dishes. Bell peppers, fresh basil, and a unique blend of sauces make this chicken dish so crave-able!

Instructions

  1. Finely mince the garlic, shallot, and chili pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet or wok. Add the garlic, shallots, and chilis and fry for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, and mix with the garlic & chili mixture.
  4. After the chicken has cooked and is starting to brown, add the bell pepper, honey, soy sauce, fish sauce, and chicken stock to the pan. Stir everything together and cook for 30-60 seconds until the sauce is evenly incorporated.
  5. Add the basil leaves and stir everything together a few times until the basil begins to wilt. Remove from the heat and serve with rice and an optional fried egg.
