Chicken Sausage Kebabs

Are you looking for a healthy & tasty summertime kebab recipe? Fire up the BBQ and grill these colorful Isernio’s Italian chicken sausage and vegetable kebabs.

Sausages are parboiled and then grilled until golden and tender. Speared on a skewer with bright-colored veggies and sizzling on my grill, this meal will be a summer staple.

Perfect when served with pasta salad, summer fruit, or your favorite BBQ sides.

  1. Soak eight 8-inch wood skewers in water for 20 minutes. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Prepare the sausages. Bring a skillet of water large enough to immerse the sausages to a boil. Add the sausages, turn the heat off, and cover. Let the sausages steep for 7 minutes. Drain the water. When the sausages are cool enough to handle, slice them into four equal pieces (approximately 1”).
  3. Thread sliced sausage, peppers, zucchini, and onion onto the skewers, alternating sausage, peppers, and onion.
  4. Season skewers with salt and pepper.
  5. Grill the skewers, turning occasionally, until the sausages are golden and the veggies are blistered, about 10 minutes. Transfer the skewers to a plate or platter and serve.
